
Access control readers for turnstiles have great impact on many technical and design aspects. Turnstiles are very elegant in appearance when designed for indoors and very robust & weatherproof when designed for outdoors. The fantastic appearance, with glass or acrylic wings, an attractive peace at the entrance or near reception of the building. The unit as whole is integrated with the access control panel with readers attached to panels installed over the entrance & exit portion of the unit. Depending on the set of rules maintained by the building’s security, the identification card or tag or else is issued for visitors to enter and exit the location.
Here the identity matters. The cards are issued to the visitors on the basis of ID cards presented or whatever are the criteria.
Access control readers for turnstiles can be of any form and specifications as long as it fits the requirements. Each turnstile is fitted with the access reader, it can be 125KHz or 13.56MHz or QR Code reader or face identification device. Any type of reader can be used at the entry and exit of the turnstile. These readers are connected to the respective access controller via the control mechanism of turnstile.
Each and every record is noted centrally in synchronization with the existing building access control as decided by the security manager of the premises.
Some turnstiles are provided with the special access cards for the visitors and controlled using a visitor management system, or any related software without affecting the routine software used for access control.
The readers used for outdoor application or turnstiles are generally IP65 rated so that they can resist the harsh environmental changes.
The entrance & exit readers can be biometric, RFID to ensure the secure and safe site. We need to be very careful while choosing the access control readers for turnstiles based on use, application, environment, choice and capability to be fitted in location designation for the readers, the reader can be fitted on surface of turnstile when it is biometric while as generic RFID access control readers are usually fitted inside the turnstiles.
