REQUEST TO EXIT

by Nundnet / Monday, 07 November 2011 / Published in Access Controls, Technology, Turnstiles

REQUEST TO EXIT ( R.E.T / R.EX)
The basic purpose of the access control is to secure the site. The types of access control varies from site to site as required, some sites are just
an entry-exit control while as others can be entry, exit and monitor.

Sometimes called as R.EX, alternately R.T.E is the signal that informs the controller that someone has requested to exit from the secure area.
Here the secure area indicates the sites where entry, exit is  controlled, monitored and recorded and the doors at these sites are referred as secure doors, means doors are also monitored.

The R.T.E (R.EX) is a specific feature that must and should be with control panel if needed and is not the default feature. Any push button can be used to connect to R.T.E terminal if available hence recorded.

In high security zones, the Access Control panels are integrated with the Intrusion detection & alarm systems using the Passive Infra Red (P.I.R) devices and other related accessories of alarm systems to increase and improve the security layer. Most of the PIR sensors are extremely flexible, provided with the built-in internal tamper proof shutters for precise target
detection.

So R.T.E or R.EX is a device used to initiate free egress means that the person exiting may do so without delay or obstruction. The device can be programmed to maintain the delay from 30~180 seconds or more
